Popolo Italian restaurant has been an icon of Brisbane’s Southbank precinct for over a decade. Design Nest were commissioned to update the fitout adding increased functionality and much needed storage and freshening the look and feel.
A fresh “ knock down” italian style render on the walls is a crisp backdrop to the updated neon logo sign. Traditional elements such as bentwood chairs and porcelain brass wall lights are combined with contemporary lighting and joinery detailing.
Beautiful handmade terrracotta tiles create a distinctly Italian feel.
A banquette seat with cascading foliage overhead creates a screen to provide a sense of enclosure to the outdoor dining space.
